Time for some IPL Bidding!!

Money Ball is a real time simulation for all the cricket lovers wherein the teams witness and experience the brains behind the rich IPL bidding process. They outbid each other for the best players and franchises. The game is based on the actual IPL bidding format and gives the teams a sense of fast-paced, highly dynamic environment that exists in the real bidding scenario. It aims to judge the prudence and intuition of the participants, and the skill with which they are able to analyze the cricketing world. First round is held as an online event where a large number of teams from different B-Schools actively participate. Top teams are shortlisted for the on campus round. They are invited to campus to participate in a three- hour long enthralling event. The teams need to be proactive and competitive in bidding for their favorite players. Managing their own budget and at the same time keeping an eye on other teams. A fast flowing and competitive atmosphere is bound to be created in the final round of the bidding. Attractive cash prizes await the winning teams.

PRIZES worth Rs. 25,000 to be won

  • A team can have a maximum of 2 members.
  • No participant can be a part of more than one team.
  • The competition will be conducted in 2 rounds.
  • Teams which do not adhere to the rules and regulations can be disqualified at any phase of the event.
  • In case of any dispute, the decision of the judges and KRITVA'19 Organizing Committee will be final and binding.

Round 1: Preliminary

  • It will be an online simulation round.
  • Teams would be given a common list of players with each player being assigned a fixed amount and rating points (ratings won't be disclosed). They will be required to form their teams within the allocated budget. The budget will be disclosed with the list of the players.
  • Ratings have been given on the basis of the player's IPL 2018 performance. Select your players accordingly.
  • Teams will be shortlisted based on the highest overall rating of the team. The top 8 teams will advance to the next round.
  • Team composition: Batsmen 4, All-rounder -2, Wicketkeeper- 1, bowler- 4
  • Entries should be in excel sheets .

Other Rules:

  • Name 1 captain: Rating points tripled
  • Name 1 vice-captain: Rating points doubled
  • Maximum 4 international players

Round 2: FINAL

  • This is an on-campus round.
  • This includes the real bidding mechanism with 8 teams.
  • Each team will be given an equal amount of virtual money for the bidding .
  • Each team will have to bid for a franchisee, where they are expected to assemble a team with same composition as for the preliminary round having a mix of batsmen, bowlers, all-rounder and wicket-keepers from a pool of players being auctioned.
  • A list of all players available for the auction, along with their base price will be provided to the teams in the beginning.
  • Bidding for each player will begin at his base price.
  • Team with highest Rating points at the end of the auction will be declared as the Winner.

Other Rules:

  • Other rules and criteria for rating points will be declared after Round 1, to the shortlisted teams.
